Computerized Buffing Previous     Next
When a casing is accepted by Initial Inspection for the ACUTREAD process, the next step is the removal of the remaining original tread using an electronic template-controlled buffer. This state-of-the-art computerized machine uses its extensive database to buff each tire to the proper radius, contour, and diameter to properly fit into our tire molds. In addition, a steel belt detector ensures the proper amount of rubber is left on the tire. This eliminates excessive heat build-up from too much undertread. The accuracy and precision of this machine permits us to meet a tolerance of 1/32” in diameter on every tire.
